Making waves in New York
Doug DeCarlo of Queens, New York, thought he knew everything his 1975 17-foot
M.F.G. fiberglass deep V bottom boat could do. After all, he's had it for 14
years.
"This past November, I used AMSOIL 2-Cycle racing oil for the first time," said DeCarlo. "the wind condition was calm and the water was smooth like glass. Prior to this day my boat always needed a good chop to reach top speed. During my first run coming into Little Neck Bay in Queens, NY, the speed was 44.5 mph at 5,000 rpms. Second run, the top speed was 45.5 mph at 5,200 rpms fully trim. I had the same speed and rpms for the third and fourth runs. That's four mph faster and 400 rpms more on flat water - that is amazing."
DeCarlo said the boat hadn't performed that well in quite some time. "This motor has not seen 5,000 rpms, let alone 5,200 rpms in years."
"I am still completely amazed. One word comes to mind that describes AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle oil - awesome."
AMSOIL 2-Cycle oil is fail safe
I heartily recommend
AMSOIL 2-cycle Oil for
outboard engines. I've been using AMSOIL for at least four years and my engine
simply runs cleaner, cooler and lasts longer. When it comes to cost I cannot
afford to use anything but AMSOIL. Engine repairs and overhauls are just too
expensive. I don't ever want to run without AMSOIL. And I fully endorse the
100:1 mix ratio as "fail safe".

Engine life increases 500%
More than 60,000 tourists annually visit Alpine Canyons, South Island, New
Zealand for high-speed thrills on Shotover Jet Ltd. jetboats.
Their Chevrolet 454 cu. in. V8-engineered jetboats are in service 365 days a year, making up to 28 high speed river trips per day.
They were changing their conventional oil at 25 hour intervals and had a 500 hour engine life span.
Now, with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils and Dual by-pass system running on propane fuel they change their oil at 400 hour intervals and engine life span is up to 2500 hours. That's 16 times greater oil service life and five times greater engine life, a huge savings for Shotover Jet Ltd.
National champion loves AMSOIL
Don Roseberry of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, is a 30-year veteran of boat
racing. Six time national championship in Mini-Gran Prix boat racing, he plans
to continue winning for many more years.
He uses AMSOIL 100:1 2-Cycle Oil in his Evinrude 25 H.P. engine. "With this mixture, the engine gets plenty of lubrication and stays nice and clean," he said.
Don also uses AMSOIL Automatic Transmission Fluid in the lower unit. "I find that the lower unit is much freer with less friction in the gears.
"I would recommend AMSOIL products to anybody," Don said.
Tournament bass angler depends on AMSOIL
David A. Zgrabik owns a guide service and is a tournament angler. "I started the
year with only 10 trips booked," said Zgrabik, "and when all was said and done I
ended up with 26. I already have 12 booked for the coming year!"
"I have to say it was not a bad year, with five first place awards and three big bass awards. After starting to run AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle Racing Oil in my motor, I noticed considerably less smoke at start-up, improved idling and more power. I even have an unexplainable 200 rpm increase! There is no way I would do without my AMSOIL motor oil now!"
Lodge owner in Manitoba, Canada
Gary Peltier is the owner/operator of South Knife Lake Lodge, just off of Hudson
Bay. Guests fish for trophy lake trout, northern pike and brook trout.
Temperatures often hover around the freezing point.
AMSOIL 100:1 2-Cycle Oil is used in the outboard engines on his fishing boats. The boats travel more than 10 miles from the lodge on their expeditions in rough, frigid water.
"In every respect AMSOIL is being counted on for exceptional performance," Peltier said, "I'll never use any other lubricant."
Professional anglers Bruce and Denny Leeson
"AMSOIL products perform flawlessly and definitely give us an advantage over the
competition and above all, a level of peace of mind we never had before," said
Bruce Leeson.
In competition, they use AMSOIL Series 2000 2-cycle oil in their Mercury outboard Nitro bass boat, which has helped them reduce plug fouling and deposits. They also saw a nice 20% increase in gas mileage and the boat "has never run faster."
They also use AMSOIL 15w-40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine oil and AMSOIL gear oil for their fishing charters. Their personal vehicles also enjoy the benefits of AMSOIL.
Terry Rinker, Formula PROP Tour Team
Rinker, who captured the Great Northern River Roar Championship in 2002,
counts on AMSOIL Series 2000 2-Cycle oil in his high performance Mercury motor.
The team's tow vehicles run AMSOIL bumper to bumper.
"Formula One race boats demand a robust, high-performance two-cycle oil. I have been using AMSOIL products in both race motors and my pleasure boat since the mid-1980s, and the performance is outstanding," said James Chambers, Crew Chief, AMSOIL/Blackhawk/Rinker Racing.
Alka-Hauler race team
The Alka-Hauler 501 race team has cut back on their upset stomachs and
headaches. A change to AMSOIL calmed their nerves and made winning possible.
"By switching to AMSOIL Series 2000 20w-50 racing oil, they immediately cut seconds off their elapsed time," said Jim Richards, Alka-Hauler driver.
The boat burns methanol for fuel. It's capable of reaching 200 mph in six seconds over a quarter mile.
"Because of the AMSOIL Series 2000 racing oil I have not had a lubrication-related engine failure since 1989. This is remarkable considering our Aries Blown Alcohol Hemi motor is capable of producing 3,000 horsepower," said Richards.
Bad Frog offshore racing boat
Bill Reich, owner of Extreme Motorsports in Flint, Michigan and throttleman for
the S-30 Bad Frog Beer Offshore racing boat, has been using AMSOIL synthetic
lubricants for the last 11 years. They rely on AMSOIL
2-Cycle oil and AMSOIL
75w-90 gear lube.
"During the time we've used AMSOIL products, we have never experienced a lubricant failure," said Reich. "In fact, we rarely have to spend time removing carbon deposits from our pistons during rebuilds. AMSOIL 2-Cycle oil burns much cleaner than other products we have tried. We have won seven championships in the last 11 years and owe a large part of our success to AMSOIL lubricants."
"Having spent 20 plus years in the fluid power industry and serving as the fluid power controls engineer for the Delphi Saginaw Steering division of General Motors Corp. I see first hand what proper lubrication and maintenance entail. That is why I insist that AMSOIL Synthetic 2-Cycle oil is used in my boat's engines."
Hydroplane drag boat
James Faulkerson, founder of JF Engineering, has used AMSOIL products for
the past fifteen years. James races hydroplane drag boats and has experienced
exceptional performance and longevity from these "high-stress" engines, using
AMSOIL lubricants.
"At one race, we ran out of AMSOIL motor oil and were forced to use another brand," said Faulkerson. "In the first race with this 'other oil' we spun a crankshaft bearing! This would have never happened if we would have been using AMSOIL! While using AMSOIL motor oil, we have never experienced any failure that could be attributed to lubrication."
James will continue in the nationwide drag boat tour with "The Nitro Bullet," a new top fuel drag boat.
"Of course I'll continue to use AMSOIL products with great confidence. This is the best lubrication money can buy!"
